NephroSync™
A computational decision system for chronic kidney disease. NephroSync™ is being developed to transform longitudinal CKD information into a patient-specific understanding of disease trajectory, clinical instability, treatment exposure, important drivers, uncertainty, and possible future paths.
Long-term vision: building the computational operating system for kidney care.
CKD does not follow one predictable path.
Kidney function, albuminuria, blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular burden, anemia, medications, acute illness, and treatment response may all change over time. A decline may reflect persistent progression, temporary hemodynamic change, acute illness, treatment effect, measurement variability, or several processes occurring together.
Prediction and decision support in one coordinated system.
NephroSync connects two broad functions. Its predictive capability models the current CKD state and possible future trajectory. Its decision-support capability organizes those findings into clinically bounded, interpretable information for review and workflow planning.
- Is the disease stable, progressive, or recently destabilized?
- Which factors may be contributing most to the current trajectory?
- Does the patient need closer monitoring, repeat testing, or further clinical review?
- How might the future course differ under defined management scenarios?
- Confidence-aware outputs with visible data limitations
Key capabilities
Trajectory Summary
Shows the direction and stability of the CKD course over time.
Change and Instability Signals
Highlights patterns that may reflect persistent progression, acute disruption, treatment response, or uncertainty.
Risk-Driver Explanation
Summarizes the factors contributing most to the modeled trajectory.
Scenario Comparison
Compares a reference trajectory with defined, clinically bounded future paths.
Monitoring and Confidence Status
Shows monitoring priorities, data limitations, uncertainty, and appropriate-use boundaries.
A continuously updated process
Organize, estimate, forecast, explain, compare, and update as new measurements, treatments, or events become available.
More than a CKD risk tool
NephroSync is being developed to do more than classify a stage or flag a threshold. It aims to show how CKD is changing, what may be driving it, and what may happen next.
More than classification
Not simply a CKD stage or label, but a view of how the disease is changing over time.
More than a one-time prediction
A repeated, longitudinal process that updates as new information arrives.
More than passive analytics
Supports active comparison of clinically bounded management scenarios.
Who NephroSync™ is for
NephroSync™ is being developed for kidney-care, health-system, research, and evidence-generation settings.
Clinical care
Support a clearer understanding of how CKD is changing, and better-timed monitoring, testing, and review.
Health systems
Make changing trajectories more visible across populations for prioritization and care coordination.
Research and evidence
Support longitudinal CKD characterization, trajectory phenotyping, and outcome forecasting.
Life sciences
Support disease-progression modeling, patient stratification, and treatment-response analysis.
A continuously updated longitudinal process.
Organize → Estimate → Forecast → Explain → Compare → Update
NephroSync is designed as a repeated process rather than a permanent one-time prediction. As new measurements, treatments, or clinical events become available, the patient representation and forecast can be reassessed.
Development and validation
NephroSync is in development. Current work includes longitudinal model evaluation, patient-specific forecast assessment, clinical plausibility and uncertainty review, event-risk calibration, confidence rules, interpretability, and intended-use safeguards.
When information is incomplete, inconsistent, or insufficiently supported, the appropriate result may be greater caution, repeat measurement, further review, or no downstream output. NephroSync is intended to support professional reasoning — not replace diagnosis, established care standards, or patient-specific treatment decisions.
Help shape the future of kidney-care decision support.
BioTraject is seeking partners for retrospective validation, prospective pilots, workflow design, longitudinal CKD research, health-data integration, real-world evidence, implementation planning, and strategic product development.
Why CKD needs this
CKD is shaped by more than declining eGFR alone. Over time, progression reflects the interaction of kidney function, albuminuria, blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular burden, anemia, medications, acute illness, and treatment response — often several at once.
Toward more proactive kidney care
NephroSync™ is being developed to make CKD progression more visible, more interpretable, and easier to act on.
